About the escape room

As history students, you have arrived in Spain for your summer practicum. Not far from your camp is the ancient Santa Cruz la Rial monastery. The monastery is famed for one of its disciples who later attained the title of the Grand Inquisitor of Spain - a fervent exterminator of heretics. History tells that the main reason for this young man's transformation into a bloodthirsty executioner was the mysterious disappearance of his biological father within the walls of this monastery. Several centuries have already passed since then, but no one ever found out what exactly happened. Locals still avoid this place to this day. However, this story intrigued you so much that no warnings could stop you, and you set out to explore the ruins.

A strong escape room across the board: choices genuinely change the story, the actor delivers just the right kind of fear, and the host sets up the lore brilliantly. The sets and costumes are tasteful, the reception area is cozy. There’s even an Easter egg for attentive players.

Despite having done 7–8 horror escape rooms, this turned out to be the least scary experience. Several puzzles broke or opened by themselves, the set design occasionally broke the period immersion, and you could hear the actors whispering behind the door about when to enter — the atmosphere dissipated. Overall, really good: the physical contact is intense, and the puzzles and acting are a solid eight out of ten. But it was stuffy, as if the ventilation wasn’t coping, so dress light. The contact format is justified, but make sure to agree on boundaries in advance.

The three of us played for a birthday, and although we’ve tried plenty of horror experiences, this one still managed to surprise us. The actor gave everyone equal attention; the puzzles were of medium difficulty, but the fear kept getting in the way of thinking. I liked that there are 'good' and 'bad' branches, and the administrator was a gem. Highly recommend.

It was thrilling to the point of trembling. What stuck with me most was how they made me scream myself hoarse, and that the quest has three different paths—one of which is hard to even find. The actors skillfully drew out the right emotions, and the puzzles struck a fine balance between interest and difficulty. Huge thanks to the team; I’ll definitely be back.

We explored the Inquisition’s dungeons and even changed our minds about the characters a couple of times. Loved the branching story, logical puzzles, and the actors’ work in sync with the music and lighting. An atmospheric, scary, beautiful quest — the girls are still shaking.
