The mystery of the pirate ship

The Caribbean Basin, 1753. Pirates rarely rob black, suspicious ships with no flags, but your crew - a handful of the most hardened rogues sailing under the black flag, decided to attack such a ship. Soon a serious fight broke out between your crew and the crew of the black ship. Defeating one rival after another, your team made their way to the ship's hold. Anticipating the loot, you rushed in first. Suddenly, the ship tilted sharply, then you started hearing wild screams from outside. It seemed like the team of the black ship, but then you realized, those were the screams of your own crew. Rushing to help, you realized that the hatch door had been locked by someone. Looking into a small window out onto the deck, you saw a horrifying sight: ropes were choking sailors, the deck was cracking open, swallowing people inside, and the sails writhed, throwing your comrades overboard. Meanwhile, the ship itself was swiftly sailing towards the rocks... Why did the ship come alive? Whose ship is it? How do you escape from this hell?
