We were celebrating a 10th birthday—at first five of the kids got scared and left, then we arranged for a friendly accompanying actor and Dad joined; in the end we finished and everyone was happy. The darkness, loud noises, flashing lights, and jump scares are what frighten you. In winter it’s chilly inside, but there’s a tea room. A downside is that they only let you in as a full team, so waiting

We wanted to quietly celebrate our 10-year-old’s birthday; they assured us it wouldn’t be scary. Within a few minutes, four children walked out and refused to go back in, and they asked for an extra charge for the dad — it was unpleasant. The party room had missing furniture, and there weren’t enough chairs; some had been taken into the quest. The celebration was spoiled.
