Shelter

The private shelter "Blackwood" was founded by a couple named Lewis. The building was initially special, as it used to be a psychiatric hospital in the pre-war period, and a military hospital a little later. In 1973, the compassionate family bought this building, and it became a shelter. However, it only managed to last for 5 years. A terrible fire occurred in July 1978. No one managed to survive, including Margaret Lewis and her husband John. The body of their 14-year-old daughter Olivia was never found. The cause of the fire remained unknown. After some time, the case was closed due to the statute of limitations. At the moment, the building, due to the lack of heirs, has reverted to the state, but is still in disrepair and empty. The smell of burning, toys in burnt cupboards, yet once this place was filled with children's laughter. Locals insist that sometimes they see light in the windows of this building or even a child's silhouette. Our tour company will hold a short tour for you for a nominal fee.
