About the escape room

The Cortez Hotel was a typical example of gloom and evil. It was the project of serial killer James March. He used it as the perfect place to trap his victims and hunt them down madly. March designed the hotel's structure in such a way that every part of it aided him in his bloody deeds. James's sinister plans included many hidden corridors and secret rooms, which added intrigue to his murders. Evidence linking James March to the serial crimes was discovered by the Los Angeles Police Department. March himself, however, didn't wait for the police and decided to end his life by suicide. Nowadays, the Cortez Hotel has a new owner, and now this place has a completely different story... Age restrictions: 18+

Фотографии высылаются команде по номеру телефона, указанному при бронировании. Видео прохождения квеста: есть возможность приобретения видеонарезки, стоимость – 1500 рублей. После квеста у команды есть 7 дней, чтобы приобрести нарезку и обговорить пожелания. Нарезка будет готова в течение 14-16 рабочих дней после оплаты.

This is not a quest, but an emotional rollercoaster. We were being scared and made to laugh at the same time, and the waltz with the maniac became our personal scene of the year. The location is huge, and the music and lighting make everything feel very cinematic. The team performed so convincingly that we forgot where reality ends.

We came with a large group and were amazed by the number of mechanics: they spin you, tie you up, threaten you with a stun gun, and then there’s even a free fall—despite us knowing it was coming. Long corridors, unexpected effects, and vivid scenes kept us on edge until the finale. For a first quest, it’s an excellent start.

The game itself was enjoyable, but it left a bad aftertaste: on medium one of us was noticeably hit on the back of the head, and afterwards our group was blacklisted, with staff citing supposed intoxication, even though one of us hadn’t been drinking at all. I go to Adaptation regularly; I’ve already come back to Cortez almost twenty times—and every time they still find a way to surprise me. The actors are an art form of their own, subtly adapting to the players and keeping you immersed right to the very end. The sets are huge and feel alive, and after the game there’s always a nice debrief and photos. Love you guys.

Solid safety measures and atmosphere; the actors engage everyone and even weave everyday items into their characters. But there aren’t many puzzles, and part of the game turned into one-at-a-time runs for keys, which threw off the balance between running around and the narrative. Still, the second half made up for it story-wise. Overall, I liked it, but the pacing could use some work.

The actors keep the dialogue flowing, crack jokes, and ratchet up the atmosphere; the waltz with the “host” is still playing in my head. The mechanics are on fire: they spun us, spooked us, and the final trick finished us off. One of the best horror experiences I’ve had.

Cortez is my favorite at 'Adaptation': lots of mechanics and rare tricks—no wonder they call it the most 'mechanized.' Immersion from the get-go, the actors are flexible and totally dialed-in, and the finale hits the mark. Recommended for both newcomers and veterans.

I rarely write reviews, but here I really want to thank you for the safety measures: the corners are soft, they asked about boundaries, and physical contact was handled gently. The vestibular activities are a bit scary, but they’re under control—scary and pleasant at the same time.
