The soul leaves a person at different stages of their existence. One who is in the throes of death releases their last breath, surrendering their soul not by the will of the mind, but forcibly. An unknown "something" pulls it from the physical body, leaving nothingness behind. Those whose heart is destined to keep the beat for at least another decade lose their soul under different circumstances. They become that "something", pulling the complex of God from a human's existence. Both of these sides, unfortunately, are destined to intersect. Our story will not be an exception. In the window of an ancient mansion opposite the house where you and a group of friends have stopped, a lamp flickers in a specific sequence every night. It wouldn't be unusual but one of you knows Morse code: the light is transmitting a distress signal. The Gothic mansion and an oppressive atmosphere around it would blend seamlessly with a scenario in the traditions of the best horror stories, not least due to a nameplate at the entrance naming the owner of the premises. After all, the news about the missing newspaper editor is still fresh in town. Amongst her colleagues, there is a belief that on the last day of her job, she was planning to interview a renowned writer: Kaiden Hungerford. Pretend to be uninvolved in the interruptions of light in the window, like the majority would do? Or risk everything by intervening in another person's plans? And here you are, the doors of the mansion greeted you with a sign: "Welcome to the vault. The Vault of K. Hungerford's Stories".
